I subspecialize in movements disorders neurology, so I am interested in treating people with Parkinson’s Disease, tremors, balance problems, dystonia, tardive dyskinesias, restless legs syndrome, tics, and any other abnormal movements. I am particularly interested in gait disorders and plan to develop a clinic specifically for people with this problem.

Dr. Woodward is second to none, and this University is lucky to have him leading in the teaching of future Neurologists through the observation of his practice. He is compassionate, EDUCATED, thorough in his evaluations and even took the time to prepare resources BEFORE I came for my apt because he knew I was driving 5 hours to see him. He provided resources for the continuance of my care and referrals to the university of Iowa which is closer to my new home. He took my concerns around past treatment and dismissal of my condition from other institutions seriously. Each student doctor/fellow who I have met have also expressed the same level of compassionate listening to understand vs listening to respond out of ego or need to move the appointment along faster for insurance purposes. I can understand why the wait time to see Dr. Woodward is so long, but he has absolutely helped to solve a neurological problem' that I have spent 12 years working with countless doctors/hospitals-including 3 other neurologists, who could not figure out what my condition was. Dr. Woodward was able to provide what I feel is an accurate diagnosis on my first visit, provided follow up plans w/clinicians he works directly with, and then in my second apt went above and beyond to find the appropriate treating facility to continue my care. Thank you!
