Thank you for your interest in pursuing a nonclinical nursing placement with Nebraska Medicine. Please review the following information carefully before submitting your application.
Important notices
- Applications must be submitted at least 90 days before your desired start date.
- Research placement requests require completing the Nursing and Research Innovation Committee (NRIC) application in addition to this form.
- Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Eligibility and placement
- This placement application is for MSN and DNP students seeking nonclinical experiences in research, education, leadership or informatics.
- Per policy and accreditation guidelines, students and their institutions should NOT directly contact potential preceptors. Applications must be submitted using the process outlined below to maintain compliance with accreditation standards.
Application process
- Complete the application form at least 90 days prior to your desired start date.
- Your application will be evaluated for eligibility and alignment with placement capacity.
- You will be contacted within two weeks of submission with approval, denial or additional steps.
- If accepted, you must complete all onboarding requirements before your placement begins.

Special considerations for research placements
If your placement is related to research, you will be prompted to complete the Nursing Research and Innovation Committee (NRIC) application as well. Your applications will be considered once both forms are submitted. If you have questions, please email clinicalnursingresearch@nebraskamed.com.
