Every year, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) surveys health care organizations to determine how information technology (IT) is improving the delivery of care. Based upon the results of the survey, which more than 675 organizations completed in 2018, CHIME recognizes the top health care systems and hospitals as HealthCare’s Most Wired.

For the second time, Nebraska Medicine received the HealthCare’s Most Wired designation. Most Wired health care organizations are ones that are committed to using technology to enhance care, support population management and value-based care.

“This award recognizes the hospitals and health systems at the forefront of using technology to improve the delivery of care. It recognizes organizations that have not only adopted technology but apply it strategically to achieve value for their organizations,” said Michael Ash, executive vice president - chief transformation officer.

Being recognized as a leader among health care organizations is a milestone in our commitment to adopt and use technology to further UNMC & Nebraska Medicine’s shared mission to lead the world in transforming lives to create a healthy future for all individuals and communities through premier educational programs, innovative research and extraordinary patient care.

“I would like to thank all of the colleagues in the Information Technology department who are dedicated to improving the lives of our patients, our providers and our staff and whose work helped us be named Most Wired,” says Dr. Ash.
