Help when you need it most

Support your colleagues through the Colleague Hardship Healing Program, offering assistance when life takes an unexpected turn.

Together. We support each other.

At times, our colleagues may face unforeseen challenges, and that’s when we step in to help. The Colleague Hardship Healing Program was created to support fellow team members facing sudden financial hardships or unexpected time off due to life’s challenges.

Colleague Hardship Healing Program

The Colleague Hardship Healing Program provides two ways to make a difference: by donating PTO hours or through financial aid to help colleagues facing difficult situations. Whether you’re looking to support a fellow team member or in need of assistance yourself, this program is here for you.

Nebraska Medicine also offers direct financial assistance and matches 50% of all PTO donations, ensuring even greater support when it's needed most.

Assistance is available for emergencies or unexpected events beyond your control. Each request is reviewed to ensure it meets the program’s criteria.

For full details, please review the program guidelines.

  1. Review the program guidelines and verify that your situation qualifies for assistance.
  2. Complete the Colleague Hardship Healing Form and submit it through AskMyHR or email MyHR@nebraskamed.com.

Support your colleagues through PTO donation

Colleagues can contribute by donating their PTO hours to the Hardship Healing Program. These donated hours directly benefit those in need, and Nebraska Medicine will match 50% of all donations.

Please note: Donors must maintain at least one week of PTO (based on FTE) in their bank.

Complete the PTO Donation Form and submit it through AskMyHR or email MyHR@nebraskamed.com.

Consider giving to the Colleague Hardship Healing Fund

The Nebraska Medicine Employee Emergency Assistance Fund, managed by the University of Nebraska Foundation, provides crucial support to colleagues facing financial hardship due to emergencies like natural disasters, home displacement, or food insecurity. Your monetary donation helps ensure employees receive the aid they need during crises, offering immediate relief and a path to recovery.
