How to save on your prescriptions
Our goal is to help all Nebraska Medicine patients, including staff and their families, get their medications at the best possible price. Here’s how you can save:
- No-cost pricing: Unlike other retail pharmacies that make a profit on prescriptions, our pharmacies only charge colleagues the cost of the prescription, with no additional markup.
- Free preventive medication: All three medical plans cover preventive medications at no cost when you use a Nebraska Medicine pharmacy. If you use an outside pharmacy, you’ll need to pay co-insurance or a copay according to your plan.
A 90-day supply of medication can be filled for the price of a 60-day supply only at Nebraska Medicine pharmacy locations. As a convenience, the pharmacy will also ship medications for free to you and your family members.
Medications may be discounted if you receive care at a qualifying Nebraska Medicine location or are discharged from Nebraska Medical Center. View the list of qualifying locations.
You can get discounted pricing through a referral if your provider is at a nonqualifying location. Contact our medication access coordinator at employeepharmacybenefits@nebraskamed.com to assist you with the referral process.

Call the pharmacy and provide the following information to transfer a prescription:
- Patient name
- Name of medication
- Prescription number (located on the prescription label)
- Name and phone number of the pharmacy that last filled the prescription
