Advance your career with education sponsorship

We are committed to supporting your professional development through our education sponsorship programs. These opportunities are designed to help you gain new skills and advance your career within our organization. To qualify, you must be in good standing and pass your sponsored courses with a grade of C or higher. Offers are extended to the most qualified candidate.

If qualified, a recruiter will contact you for an initial phone screen.

Receive an offer

Accept an offer and begin your coursework while continuing in your current role.

Complete your program

Finish your coursework and transition into your new position. 

CNA Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing.

Complete the application form and submit it via MyHR ticket.

  • Automatic enrollment in Clarkson College's online CNA program.
  • Nebraska Medicine will cover the cost of one CNA course or certification attempt.
  • Once certification is obtained, update Workday to include your CNA licensure.
    • If you are currently a nursing assistant, you will be updated to a CNA role automatically.
    • If you are in any other role, you will apply for a CNA position.

Medical Assistant Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing.

Apply for the Medical Assistant Sponsorship (December and July) program on our internal careers page in Workday. This sponsorship program is offered twice a year with classes beginning in February and September. No prerequisites are required.

  • Automatic enrollment in the Medical Assistant program through Clarkson College in partnership with CareerStep.
  • Nebraska Medicine will cover the cost of the program.
  • Self-paced online courses to be completed within one year.
  • Upon coursework completion, 100 hours of clinical externship will be facilitated by Nebraska Medicine.
  • You will remain in your current role until successful course completion.
  • After completing the program, colleagues will transition into a medical assistant role.
    • A one-year retention agreement will be required.

Surgical Technologist Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing.

Apply for the Surgical Technologist Sponsorship program on our internal careers page in Workday. Positions are posted several times throughout the year. No prerequisites are required.

  • Transfer to the Integrated Service Center (ISC) to work as a sterile processing technician while completing coursework.
    • This exposure is invaluable to the learning and familiarity of surgical instruments. 
  • While working in the ISC, colleagues will complete a self-paced online program through Dignity College.
  • Nebraska Medicine will cover the cost of the program.
  • After completing the program, colleagues will transition into a surgical technologist trainee role to receive additional hands-on training.
    • Once training is complete, colleagues will be moved into a surgical technologist position.

Advanced Degree Sponsorships

RN to BSN Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing, have an associate’s degree in nursing (ADN, RN) and have been accepted into Clarkson College’s BSN program.

First, apply to the RN to BSN program through Clarkson College. Then, apply to the RN to BSN Sponsorship program on our internal careers page in Workday.

Application timeline:

  • November for the January cohort.
  • March for the May cohort.
  • June for the August cohort.
  • Nebraska Medicine will cover the cost of tuition, fees and books needed to obtain your BSN.
  • Online schooling provides flexibility to work while pursuing your advanced degree.
  • A one-year retention agreement will be required upon completion of the program.

CT Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing, ARRT-R certified, meet state licensing requirements and have been accepted into a CT program at Clarkson College or UNMC.

First, apply to the CT program at Clarkson College or UNMC. Then, apply to the CT trainee position on our internal careers page in Workday when posted. 

  • Nebraska Medicine will pay approximately $5,000 directly to the school to cover required courses and materials.
  • Work in the CT department alongside tenured staff while completing the necessary coursework for the board exam.
  • Upon course completion and board certification, colleagues will move into a CT tech role.  
    • A one-year retention agreement will be required upon completion of the program.

MRI Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing, ARRT-R certified, meet state licensing requirements and have been accepted into an MRI program at Clarkson College or UNMC.

First, apply to the MRI program at Clarkson College or UNMC. Then, apply to the MRI trainee position on our internal careers page in Workday when posted. 

  • Nebraska Medicine will pay approximately $5,000 directly to the school to cover required courses and materials.
  • Work in the MRI department alongside tenured staff while completing the necessary coursework for the board exam.
  • Upon course completion and board certification, colleagues will move into a MRI tech role.  
    • A one-year retention agreement will be required upon completion of the program.

Nuclear Medicine Sponsorship

Nebraska Medicine colleagues who are in good standing, ARRT-R certified, meet state licensing requirements and have been accepted into the Nuclear Medicine program at the University of Arkansas.

First, apply to the Nuclear Medicine program at the University of Arkansas. Then, apply to the Nuclear Medicine trainee position on our internal careers page in Workday when posted.

  • Nebraska Medicine will pay approximately $12,000 directly to the school to cover required courses and materials.
  • Work in the Nuclear Medicine Department alongside tenured staff while completing the necessary coursework for the board exam.
  • Upon course completion and board certification, colleagues will move into a nuclear medicine technologist role. 
    • A one-year retention agreement will be required upon completion of the program.
